Question 1

Will you take guest song requests during a party?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, as long as the couple is comfortable with guest requests. I’ll do my best to work them in, provided the requests fit the vibe you’ve established and don’t include songs on your “do not play” list.

Question 2

How involved are we in choosing the music?

Accepted Answer

You can be as hands-on or hands-off as you’d like. Some couples provide a detailed playlist with songs they want (and don’t want), while others give me a general style and trust my experience. Either way, I’ll make sure the music reflects your tastes and keeps guests entertained.

Question 3

Do you provide lighting or any special effects?

Accepted Answer

I’ve really become an enthusiast for intelligent lighting. I offer uplighting and synchronized lighting effects that move in time with the music—keeping the energy high and the dance floor alive!

Question 4

Can you accommodate specific cultural or religious music preferences?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I’m always open to integrating cultural traditions or religious music into the playlist. Let me know your preferences in advance so I can make sure I have the right music or can acquire it before your big day.

Question 5

How much does a DJ cost?

Accepted Answer

My DJ Services start at $1,200 for a 4 hour package, including a pro sound PA system, a wireless microphone and emcee/host services. Emcee/host only starts at $600. Weddings add $600, event lighting adds $600, and ceremony audio and cocktail hour audio are $300 each. Use the instant quote builder on the pricing page to see your estimate.

Question 6

Do I need the Advanced Audio System?

Accepted Answer

It’s recommended for parties over 80 people. It adds a sub PA speaker to enhance the audio quality and effectiveness for your event, and it’s $400.

Question 7

Can you emcee without DJing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Emcee/host only starts at $600. This includes myself hosting your event; equipment requirements depend on each event.

Question 8

What kinds of events do you do?

Accepted Answer

Weddings and milestone birthdays first and foremost. Milestone birthdays include Quinceañeras, Sweet 16s, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and big birthdays like the 30th, 40th, 50th and beyond. I also DJ family celebrations like anniversaries, graduations and showers, corporate and holiday parties, and other private parties, and I emcee on my own, with or without the DJ setup.

Question 9

Where are you based?

Accepted Answer

I’m based in Westport, Connecticut. My typical area runs from Westport out to Stamford, Milford, Monroe and Ridgefield. I’m happy to travel farther on request, and I’ve played weddings in the Foxwoods area and in Vermont.
